| Here is my plan for the 08 2.2.
- Custom chassis (4 linked) - delrin skid plate with integrated lower 4 link mounts - 2x AX-10 trannies - AX-10 axles - Bug Body - 2x very small BL motors (400 series outrunners) - 2x Mamba 25 - 11.1V - DX-6 - Hilift or Bruiser drive shafts - Hitec 5955TG - Voltage regulator (Ubec or Castle) - RC4wd Bead locks - Losi Claws - Ace Donuts foams - internal and externally sprung shocks (not sure what I have in the box)
The goal is to make this truck much lighter then my current 2.2 but still maintain all the functionality.
Now I just need to build a bench in my new shop to set my tool up. (Senile-Hiker will help with the construction of the bench on Sat)

| Rene has run a setup like this for a while now. From before the nationals if I remember correctly. So it is nothing all that new. Just need skills to run a 2 stick radio. Same way guys are running supers. Only wish I had the skills. | |

| I have done absolutely nothing to start this build. I am not going to run the Mamba 25 this year. I orderred some Quark 33 Pros for the 2.2. I may also just buy some stock Ax-10 chassis plates, my father-in-laws truck works very very well. So I will likely just modify a stock chassis.
(I still have not found my camera, sorry)

| I put my Ax-10 together. I think I might have succeded in building the first AX10 that full out sucks.
I think everyone of my modifications made it worse.
I am more then a little frustrated and will likely be in the garage the rest of the night.
Things I did to mess it up - Heavier shock oil - internal and external springs - 4 linked vs 3 link - different servo mount - extra transmission and motor - different skid plate - Losi Claws

| I would learn nothing from that.
Thank you very much for the offer.
I think the problem I have is the skid plate and the battery location (on the servo) and I need some extra weight in the rear tires.

| Well its still a turd.
The truck just balls up and throws itself onto its roof as soon as one tire lifts.
I am glad my TLT is not cut up yet.
This is in no way because of the AXIAL design, all of the problem have been generated by my design.
Its junk and pics would be useless.

| I'm playing with the double spring ideal and 70wt oil. So far so good! Use lighter external springs. When I used the stock springs it was unpredictable. Just some ideals! |

| I am sure that the truck is not the problem. It just seems way harder to drive then the TLT I had last year.
I will go to the BULLHOLE for a bit today and will see if it is a capable as I need it to be and then I can make it easier to drive, by messing with the link Geometry and trying messing with the springs.
But I agree, right now it is completly unpredicatble and does not track worth crap.

| Went to the Bullhole with the AX10. I am very dissappointed still. I am going to build some different sideplates and change the links from how I have them now.
I think a stock truck does better then mine would right now, but I think I can find something to make one even better the stock.

| I think that these chassis plates and some 4" shocks would make this truck drivable enough for me to be able to handle it. The cut outs will be different. | |

| Bring the shock towers down just a bit and go back to dual springs with about a 1/4" up travel, that’s what I'm working on!
You’re facing the same challenges as me. It seems that they made a pretty good crawler right out of the box. Every time I try to better something I go backwards. |

| Hey Mike
The chassis above moves the upper mounty of the shock down 1" and forward 0.5".
I am hopeing this will let me run 4" shocks with internal and external springs.
And lower my CG. And reduce lateral flex. And reduce articulation. And inprove climbing ability. And improve tracking.
LOL, I know I am hopeing for a lot of things to just happen.
