| Hey there
The is it better is a loaded question, if you need to widden because of clearence issues, then go for it.
The down side is you need more force (stronger servo) to turn, you are putting more stress on the case etc..
The truck will be much more stable.
Now the how;
1. Widdeners like Tobecraft, Thunder tech etc work well
2. front Pede wheels
3. CVDs add a little width | |

| If you just want to widen it a little the wheels are the cheapest way. You can get Pede fronts at almost any hobby shop. They are about 4 or 5 dollars per pair. They are offset more to the outside. Wideners work aswell. The only thing is they put more stress on the stub axles and the steering components (servo,knuckles). And they are more expensive. I have my comp rig w/wideners and my 2 sons w/offset wheels. I've broken a couple of stubs and wornout servos. They hardly have any trouble. | |

| I don't know if you want wider axles, they may prevent you from going into tight spaces and turning tight. If you want more stability, put some sticky weights in the rims or on the axles. | |
