| Hey there My Tlt kit arrived from thecrawlerstore.com. Planing to make a tube chassis with a Pede tranny. The fun thing that I just realized is that I am in Canada all week, then in Pa (maybe will hang with the boys from the Sasquehana Valley Scale Crawlers) for the weekend and then I work till Saturday at Nasa in Va. And the following week I am scheduled to be in Boston. So I have Sunday Feb 4th and Sat the 10th to build these two trucks. (I also have to spend quality time with my wife and do chores etc.. those days). Oh well no sleep for me.

| Hey all;
I needed to repair the tuber I had using some of the parts I was going to build this truck and because there are no 'scale' comps comming up, I have cut up the scaler tube chassis to make my comp rig.
Everything but the front suspension is done. I will post pics next Friday.
Specs
12" wheelbase Mamba 25 outrunner brushless (not sure if a 400 or 500, need to do some testing) Hitec Lynx 3d (possibly a dig setup if I am ever home long enough) MG995 steering Servo Tube chassis RC4wd Beadlocks with Moabs or M2ks Some widdeners

| After some testing at Look Out Dam today, I realized that my gearing will not work with a little outrunner. The Holmes Revolver V1 had no problem with the 9 to 54 (32P) set up, but the 400 size Outrunner did not allow the same freedoms. I changed to 48P and went with a 12 to 90 set up. That is a 25% greater mechanical advantage.
Hopefully I will have a sec tomorrow to try a rock or two in my backyard before I have to run to the Airport to cold Boston and then colder Madison, Wi. I'll be back on Sat and will see everyone at the comp.

| Updates to the 07 rig;
The red 2.2 from the last comp will be my back up incase this idea does not work out.
I have the new axles and bearings for this rig and I am going to make it a tube set-up.
I started to put stuff together today and realized that I have 3 Nitro Pede diff gears and not a single E-pede diff that I cn use. Hobby Town USA does not have any, I was just there (WT HArris). So I am going to cut up my wife's bashing truck (Lawrence do not tell her, LOL).
So that means that today I want to assemle axles tranny and cut a tranny mounting plate.
I will post up dates as they happen.

| While you guys were out having fun, I was mesing arround in my shop. What I built is not going to work, but here it is. I think that I will throw out all of the tube work, its just to heavy. I am even considering just machining some shock mounts and slapping a body on this one for now. | |

| The 2 tranny thing is being abandoned. Also I have tried to make a dig setup, and have not been satisfied with the results. So I will wait till RC4wd gets theres going (likely the week after Moab, LOL) I have added CVDs and have lowerred the truck a little. This has effected the break-over and may cause problems, but I really do not have time to test, so I will just run it at the comp and see whatr happens. | |

| Getting my ass handed to me at todays comp means I must improve the rig. Here is the first part (its a 2 part modification) (go ahead and guess what it is). | |

| Wow you guys are smart. Here is the servo mounting plate I think my setup will be different then the ones that have been done before, which likely means that it will not work, LOL. The first part will be Carbon Fibre the second Aluminum. | |

| Great news for everyone but me.
I just took my 2.2 out for a test run to prepare for comp 7. The truck sucks. I can not do the gates in my back yard that I normaly drive right over. I thought it did not feel right in Atlanta (I placed 9th there), but I just figured that was because of the different terrain.
I had my wife come and watch me run the course and she noticed that the truck sucks now.
I am a little perplexed, I have not changed anything since I did well with it in Augusta.
So fixing the steering has moved to bottom of the list and I am redoing the suspension setup until I get some of the performance back.

| Its all better now. I spent a couple hours testing today. Where did the rear shock go???? There they are The flex is now too much, but I dont care. The internal springs are made by W.B. Jones. The are spring # 159 A in the right rear and 155 A in all three other corners. It turns better now and tracks straighter and is much better (smoother) in the off camber stuff. | |

| Looks interesting. I'm surprised it works good on the off camber stuff with the shocks like that. I figure they would tend to unload easy. Looks kind off cool. | |

| Hey Brandon
The bulk of the mass is still on the front and the front end is still the same (except I found a couple more degrees steering).
The problem I was having before was that the front end would get lifted up and flipped over by the rear not allowing it to follow the terrain.
The current forum pics shows what the problem was, the front left tire is not allowed to drop, and when it finally does the truck just slaps down unpredictably, frequently rolling.
This was a huge problen in Atlanta. But I really feel that it is much better now.

Look for this rig to get a major overhaul by Saturday night.
Doug, shut up. Do not share my top secret design ideas (that have already been clearly stated earlier in this thread) (LOL)

| All this stuff to prevent roll overs....maybe some cage redesign that may help position the weight to assist in righting the vehicle would be of use. | |

| You are right I am putting a horn on the top of the next tuber so that it can not sit on its roof and I am sloping in the passenger compartment.
I have still not started, stupid job is getting in the way of my fabricating.

| hey there
The flip arm is not legal because it could produce forward motion. Onlt the 4 tires are permitted to cause forward motion.

| Even if it was cantilevered to only provide side to side movement? Because you can mount a servo in the middle and have a rod with a cantilever in the middle the servo arm would move the catilever and in return the cantilever would slide the rod left or right, depending on which way you needed to roll. or....mount a linear actuator, lol might be easier. but would not produce forward motion.
probably rollover less without that weight up top anyway.
I saw a semi truck with a moon shaped cage, when it hit the brakes, it would roll all the way over and back onto its wheels. course that would only work on flat ground.
