| Here are the parts I am using to start. I will post updates as I progress. First thing, I have to put a spring return on channel 3 of the Dx6. Motors will be two 1st Gen Holmes Revolvers and I will post a pic or two when I get the throttle stick spring return in place, should be the same as my Laser 4.

| hey The last gate at the last comp really showed that my truck does not climb well enough. I think this is because my 4 link set up has too much play. I want to connect the lower links directly to the axle but then I have no where to mount the shock. So I am going to try to replace the current lower links with something similar to what RCGUY from Canada makes. Also I am going back to havge front and back links being the same and moving the battery, maybe I even run Lipos, not sure yet. Here is the start of the links, I am making extras so that I can use them on other build too, if they work. I am also puting a different axle on the back so that I can use the RC4wd tubes for the front end of a Clod 2.2 that I want to try to build. | |

| here is a little progress The links the chassis (old version) half the chassis (new version) (I have already figured out that it will not work So now I have to travel all week and try to build something Friday night that I can compete in the super class. Maybe I will just bring my stock clod on Jumbo Kongs, if I can not get something together. | |

| that sucks. What kind of problems were you having? Do you not like the way it performs now? Atleast it's bcak together for the comp. | |

| hey there
All the problems are figured out. The first attempt at the drop setup would have resulted in the chassis buckling upwards (unloading the shocks) everytime I would have tried to climb something.
This current design appears to work well. The number one issue I had was that the chassis from that I had at the last comp would not track well, because of the 4 link connector plates I used (Brandon has a similar setup, but his truck's 4 links appear to triangulated better).
I spoke to a member of the TN club (James) about the drop thing, he loves it on his clod, but hates it on any shafty. I am leaving my 2.2 TLT the way it is. If I have time I will build a Drop 2.2 Clod.
Since I have to tune up the gear boxes before the comp, I orderred some CVDs. Hopefully they get here ASAP.

| I figured out what my diff destroying problem was. The nice thing is that it is 100% my fault and easily fixed.
The CVD have a shaft that you stick into the end that lines both shafts up and prevents cas flex and therefore keeps the gear mesh aligned.
Long story short, I did not install these.
Today I installed a new sterring servo, Full Integy Metal gears (both axles all gears) and the two alignment pins.
Missing these two pins cost the win in Augusta (and 4 diffs, LOL). But better there then at nationals.

| Here is a correction, I looked at the diffs I trashed at Augusta today, turns out that the CVD cross pin was correctly installed. So I was busted 4 diffs in one comp using a single charge on a 7.4v battery.
I hope that after I laterally shim the aloy gears the ocassional zing noise disappears and that I learn to be nicer to my Super. (the idea is not to implode all my stuff at Nationals).
I hope that we have a bunch of Supers at the last event.
I am in, I know that Doug is, I assume that Nick is, and Wade will hopefully find some spare servos to run his. And of course there is Tony's out of spec 2.2 tat will be forced to run the Super Class (LOL).
Tony, seriously, you should build the SW2 up with rear steer and run it in the supers and run you Hustler in the 2.2.

| I stripped the electronics out of the Super after the Lipo fire. The servos are sent outr to Hitec, the Esc went to Castle, and I am getting a new battery from Holmes. I also sent the receiver into Spektrum, but I expect them to call me and tell me it can not be fixed. Here is a pic of wher the fire happened. I have made new rear links (the S shaped ones) and am thrilled with how they look. I just need to bend up some fronts and mount them. I am also making a significantly longer chassis tub. For two reasons: first I can mount the battery more forward in the chassis, and second, if there is a course with a ridiculous uphill that next to no one can get up I can lengthen my wheel base before I start the course. | |

| Battery is now place 2" more forward. New links front and back. Here is why I put the new links on. Chassis under full extension and the ground clearence is abot 1/2" less then a stick. Chassis is aprox 17" now, but can be 18" or 19" by moving the location of 4 fasteners. | |

| The Super is ready for nationals. The second pic is with two 3 cell 1250 Mah batts, Holmes is sending me a single 3 cell pack rated at 4000Mah, that fits exactly in this location. Now I just do not have any electronics to build the next 2.2. Hopefully Castle, Hitec and Spektrum are quick to return my stuff. | |

| hey Tony;
I have no idea how it will stack up against the big hiters at Nationals, but it is way better then any super I have ever built.
Now I just need to make sure it does not catch fire.
