| Nothing extreme. Just oredered a Tamiya F150 race truck (TA02 chassis). Wanted to have something to play around with between crawling with a little speed to it. I'll post pics when it comes in. | |

| hey there
I am looking for the same thing and have been cruising Ebay for a Hummer (same chassis I think) or a CC-01(touareg, Pajero or Wrangler).
If you get one going, maybe we can do a trail run at a comp. My other thought was just to build a small truck using TLT axles and leaving the stock tires or getting 1,9s.
I look forward to seeing it when you get your truck. | |

| That would be cool to get a few 1.9's going. BigRed is going to get one too. The TLT axle is a good idea Renoir. I've read on RCC that the Touareg was a bit more top heavy and got hung up a little easier because of the longer wheelbase but climbs a little better. So I chose the F150. Plus I like the wheel/tire combo on it better than the others. | |

| After seeing the 1.9's in Augusta I have wanted to build one. If your going for a true scale looking trail rig 1.9 is the way to go. I have plans for a 1.9 on a cc-01 chassis. I would like to have a hard body on top. Just have not decided what one yet. May go with the fj body since they can be had pretty cheap. | |

| In a way I like the touareg chassis better because it has fender wells to keep the crud out and has a solid rear axle. The Hummer has open wells and independent rear susp. I guess they all have their pros and cons. Anyone one of them would be fun.

| hey Scruff;
Rather then rebuilding Brandons pack, go to Radio Shack, they sell GP3300 packs that are as good as any high end manufacturers club packs.
I have done a direct comparison in two identical Novak BL pedes with a Fussion Club pack (50ish) to the Radio Shack GP 3300 (25) and the radio Shack pack was a touch more punchy and had a touch longer run times.
And for the $25 its likely not worth the time and energy to make a stick pack.
If you do feel the need to make a stick pack, you need to solder the cells side by side with a plyable battery bar and once you have them solderred you stuff them into a tube and then you need to buy shrink wrap and the ends to do it properly.
Good luck | |
